For Bihor Employers
Bihor carries the largest driver advert board of the six Nord-Vest counties, and nearly all of it is categoria C+E work run tur-retur or pe comunitate from Oradea. The county's western frontier is now an internal Schengen line, which makes a westbound departure from here about the easiest in Romania. Eastbound is the harder direction, because the A3 towards Cluj is still part built and one section of it is closed with traffic signed onto DN 19B. Registered unemployment is the second lowest of the six, so no slack pool is waiting.
Your advert, your shortlist • Candidates apply straight to you • Work permission guidance under a separate agreement
Romania's sixth largest county by area, with electronics, textiles, food and beverage processing, mechanical components, metallurgy and western extraction behind its freight. Oradea holds most of the hiring, and the driver market here is overwhelmingly international.
Name the vehicle plainly. A rigid needs categoria C and an articulated combination needs categoria C+E, which is how almost every Romanian advert writes it, and say whether the atestat profesional for marfă has to be in hand on day one. Vacancies appear at www.fastdriver.eu/jobs/romania.
FastDriver.eu publishes what you write and passes the replies to you. It is not a recruitment agency and not an agent de muncă temporară, so it does not employ drivers, does not supply them under hire and never signs a contract in your place.
One local point an employer rarely knows: the county's flagship automotive supplier could not staff itself from Oradea, widened its catchment to a fifty kilometre radius and ran twenty three works transport routes to fill its shifts. Your driver vacancy competes with that. The national process sits on the Romania employer page.
Employers in Bihor recruit șofer profesionist C+E for tur-retur and comunitate running, categoria B distribution and courier drivers for Oradea, light international crews, and passenger drivers for works and scheduled services.
The commonest advert in the county, written șofer profesionist cat. C+E, on extern work with runs towards France and Austria named in the listing. Tur-retur means there and back on a fixed pattern, so state the rotation and whether the driver sleeps in the cab.
The phrase that signals long international work to a Romanian driver. It needs categoria C+E, the atestat profesional for marfă and a card tahograf valabil. Name the countries covered, and set out the diurnă separately from salary, because that is the first figure a candidate checks.
Distribution and courier rounds around Oradea and the communes next to it, advertised as șofer distribuție on categoria B, or categoria C where the vehicle is heavier. Say the start time, the number of drops and whether loading and handling form part of the job.
Two person crews and solo drivers on light commercial vehicles running extern, advertised at Osorhei among other places. Say whether you want șoferi singuri sau echipaje, and note that international work in this weight band now falls inside the tachograph obligation.
Scheduled passenger and staff transport work on categoria D with the atestat profesional for persoane. Bihor manufacturers move labour across a wide radius by bus, so these seats genuinely exist. State the route, the shift pattern and the depot the driver reports to.
Because this board is so heavily extern, a genuinely domestic vacancy has to say intern or transport național in the title, or C+E drivers will read past it assuming euros and weeks away from home.
Bihor runs from the Hungarian plain in the west up into the Apuseni foothills in the east, with Oradea sitting close to the frontier and the rest of the county strung along the roads that leave it. A driver judges a job here by which of those roads the yard sits on.
Oradea and its immediate ring carry nearly all of the county's driver adverts, along with the Eurobusiness parks and the commune belt around Osorhei. Commutes inside that ring are short, and candidates compare several yards at once.
West of the city, the old crossing points at Borș, Borș II, Săcueni, Valea lui Mihai and Salonta are no longer border posts. A driver living out there is now closer to a Hungarian motorway run than to Cluj-Napoca.
Southwards and eastwards the county thins out. Beiuș, Aleșd and Marghita each pull from their own area, and an advert that names only the county reads as vague to a driver in the Barcău valley.
Marghita and Ip matter more than usual at the moment, because the signed A3 diversion runs through them. An Oradea to Cluj load now passes a labour pool that an Oradea only advert never reaches.
Driver work differs sharply between the capital ring, the Black Sea port, the western gateway counties and the eastern border. Open another county to see the hiring information that applies there.
Romanian drivers search in Romanian. An advert written only in English will miss most of the domestic market.
Sofer profesionist is the dominant advert title. Sofer TIR signals international work and is read that way immediately. Sofer camion and sofer de distributie name the vehicle and the job. Conducator auto is the formal register that appears in documents and regulations rather than in adverts.
Intern or extern is the first thing a Romanian driver looks for, because it decides whether they are home each night or away for weeks. Put it in the headline. An advert that leaves it out collects applications from people who withdraw once they find out.
Pe comunitate is the phrase that signals the well paid international segment. It is worth using where it is true, and worth avoiding where it is not, because drivers treat it as a promise about earnings.
Write the licence as C+E. That form appears far more often in real adverts than CE, by a wide margin, and writing it the other way marks an advert as drafted by someone outside the trade.
The qualification is the atestat profesional, for marfa or for persoane. Adverts list it alongside the card tahograf and ADR where the load requires it. Name only what the role genuinely needs.
Pay needs two numbers, not one. Salary and diurna are quoted separately in Romanian adverts, and for international work the daily allowance is a very large part of what a driver actually takes home. An advert that gives only the salary reads as badly paid even when it is not.
Romanian drivers read an advert for the route, the vehicle, the time away and the two pay figures. An advert that answers those four things gets better applications than one that lists benefits.
FastDriver.eu operates as a European driver job portal and allows candidates elsewhere in Europe and in eligible international markets to find and apply for suitable Romanian vacancies.
Start by ignoring most of what is published about this, because the system changed. The separate work permit that employers used to apply for has been abolished and replaced by a single application filed on a state platform. The old route was switched off months before the new platform opened, so guidance written before the change is not just dated, it describes a procedure that no longer exists.
Drivers sit on the shortage occupations list, which is the gate for the main employment route. For a haulier that is genuinely good news and it is the part of the system working in your favour.
The real barrier is not the paperwork. Filing directly requires a trading history, an average headcount above a published threshold and a financial guarantee for each worker. Most Romanian hauliers sit below that headcount, which means they cannot file at all and must go through a licensed placement agency instead. Check which side of that line your company falls on before you plan anything else, because it changes the whole approach.
The annual quota is a single national figure rather than a transport allocation, and it was cut rather than raised. A large share of it is consumed well before the year ends, so an application late in the cycle competes for what is left.
Employers in Bihor may receive applications from drivers based in Romania, elsewhere in the EU and EEA, Switzerland, the wider European region, Asia, Africa, Gulf countries, North America, Latin America and other eligible international markets.
EU, EEA and Swiss citizens may work in Romania without an authorisation. A Moldovan national holding Romanian citizenship is an EU citizen and needs nothing, while one without it faces full external border checks, because the Romanian border with Moldova is now a Schengen external frontier. The difference is large and it is worth establishing early in a conversation rather than late.
The employment contract has to reach the national register before the driver starts work, not afterwards. The register changed name and platform recently, and the penalties for undeclared work are severe with a high ceiling, so this is not a formality to leave until the first week.
A candidate's ability to work here depends on nationality, residence status, professional qualifications, driving licence validity and the requirements of the individual position. Nationality alone never settles it. Drivers can check their own position through our driving licence eligibility guidance.
FastDriver.eu can provide process guidance and document coordination when a candidate needs support. It does not make government decisions and cannot promise an approval.
Name the licence category in the advert. A Romanian driver reads it first, and C+E in the headline tells them immediately whether the job is theirs.
Freight work uses C and C+E, with C1 and C1E for lighter rigid vehicles. Passenger transport uses D and D1.
Age limits matter when you are planning a pipeline. C1 and C1E open at eighteen, C and C+E at twenty one and reduce to eighteen for a driver holding the professional qualification. D and DE open at twenty four and reduce to twenty one on the same basis. Heavy categories run five years.
Romania asks for something most member states do not. A professional driver needs an annual medical check and an annual psychological check, and the psychological opinion is also part of the file for exchanging a foreign licence. Employers arriving from elsewhere in the EU are regularly caught out by it.
The atestat profesional is issued by the national road authority, separately for goods and for passengers, and renewed every five years. A shorter conversion route exists for a driver moving between the two, so an experienced goods driver is not starting again to work on passenger transport.
Foreign licences need checking before you make an offer. EU and EEA licences exchange without a test. Beyond that it depends on whether the issuing country appears on the convention or reciprocity lists, and where it does not the driver sits the Romanian theory and practical examination, which they may now do without compulsory driving school.
Several of the countries Romanian hauliers recruit from most heavily could not be found on those exchange lists. That is not a conclusion that they are absent, but it does mean the question has to be settled for the specific country before a contract is signed, not assumed.
A professional qualification obtained outside the EU or EEA is not recognised here. An experienced driver arriving from outside Europe takes the Romanian qualification whatever they held before.
This is where the real timeline lives, and it is longer than most employers expect. The driver attestation that a Romanian operator needs in order to put a third country national on international work requires a Romanian licence and the professional qualification. A newly arrived driver has neither. The tachograph card also requires the work authorisation first. So the sequence is admission, then licence, then qualification, then attestation, and an employer who budgets only for the visa will be short by months.
One thing works in your favour. The professional examinations have been made available in English, which was done specifically to serve drivers recruited from South and South East Asia, so the qualification stage no longer requires Romanian first.
Unlike several other member states, the forklift authorisation in Romania is a genuine state authorisation issued to the individual rather than a permission the employer grants. ADR is required where the load needs it. Verifying the original documents remains the employer's responsibility.
Six crossing points in this county, Borș, Borș II, Săcueni, Valea lui Mihai, Salonta and Episcopia Bihor, stopped being border posts when Romania joined Schengen at its land borders, so the Hungarian frontier here is an internal line with random risk based checks instead of a scheduled stop. Eastwards the picture is reversed. The A3 is currently closed in both directions between the Nușfalău junction and Suplacu de Barcău while a new subsection is tied in, and the signed diversion runs on DN 19B through Marghita, Satu Barba, Suplacu de Barcău, Ip and Nușfalău, with a short single lane restriction on the way. Plan Oradea to Cluj timings on that basis and tell candidates what the run actually involves.

Employers in Bihor can use FastDriver.eu to find drivers, advertise genuine vacancies and receive applications through a specialised European driver job portal.
The employer starts by submitting company details, work location, driver category, required licence, number of vacancies, experience level, working schedule, pay information and proposed start date.
The vacancy can then be prepared and promoted to relevant drivers through the platform, alongside the current driver vacancies already open.
Candidates apply for suitable positions. The employer reviews their information, conducts interviews and makes the final hiring decision.
FastDriver.eu does not become the employer. It does not replace the company's legal responsibility for candidate verification, employment contracts, remuneration or working conditions.
Employers that can consider international drivers should clearly state whether work authorisation guidance, visa process support, accommodation or relocation assistance is available.
This information must reflect the employer's actual offer. It must not be added only for search visibility.
Tell us how many drivers you need, the base or town they work from, the licence category, experience, routes, language requirements and proposed employment conditions.
Our team reviews your company details and checks that the vacancy contains what a Romanian driver needs in order to apply with confidence, including the category, whether the work is intern or extern, the atestat position, and salary and diurna stated separately.
The vacancy is prepared, published and promoted according to the selected employer option.
Drivers apply through the platform. The employer reviews applications, communicates with suitable candidates and arranges interviews.
The employer makes the final hiring decision, verifies the candidate and signs the employment contract directly with the selected driver.
When separately agreed, FastDriver.eu may provide immigration process guidance, document coordination and relocation preparation for eligible international candidates.
Complete and accurate information helps drivers understand the opportunity and allows the platform team to publish the vacancy correctly.
Do not request unrelated information.
FastDriver.eu provides the digital platform and any separately agreed support services.
The employer is responsible for confirming the vacancy, independently verifying each selected candidate, checking licence categories and the atestat position, and meeting all Romanian employment obligations.
FastDriver.eu does not issue government approvals.
FastDriver.eu cannot guarantee applications, candidate availability, candidate suitability, interview attendance, hiring, work authorisation approval, visa approval, licence recognition, processing time or continued employment.
All vacancies must be genuine, current, lawful and accurate.
Employers must not request unlawful recruitment or application payments from candidates.
It posts your driver vacancy on a board built exclusively for driver work and sends applications straight to you. You write the advert, set the pay and the contract, decide who to interview and make the offer. Nothing is filtered on your behalf, and no shortlist is imposed. FastDriver.eu never becomes the employer of anyone who answers it.
Neither one. A licensed placement agency is a regulated thing in Romania, and an employer is right to check the claim closely. FastDriver.eu holds no such licence, does not need one, does not hire drivers out and does not place them. The driver you hire in Oradea is your employee, on your contract and payroll.
Categoria C+E for articulated work, which is how Romanian adverts write it and what candidates search for, and categoria C for rigid work. Categoria D covers passenger work. The recruitable age for C and C+E is eighteen for a driver who holds the certificate of professional competence, and twenty-one for D with the same certificate.
Because almost every advert in this country already says it. The board here is the biggest of the six, and extern and tur-retur dominate, so the words that separate your vacancy are the route, the rotation, the trailer type, and whether the driver gets home weekly. Without those, an experienced C+E driver has nothing to compare.
The six points on this county’s frontier stopped being border posts when Romania joined Schengen at its land borders, so westbound runs no longer have a scheduled stop. Checks are now random and risk-based, not routine. Customs and transport enforcement did not disappear, so do not promise a candidate an uninterrupted departure, only a faster one.
Assuming a good part of it is single carriageway. The A3 is open at the frontier end and again further east. However, two sections in this county are still being built, and the stretch between the Nușfalău junction and Suplacu de Barcău is closed in both directions, with the diversion signed onto DN 19B. Allow for Marghita and Ip.
Very little of one. Registered unemployment here is the second lowest of the six Nord-Vest counties; the county has lost well over a tenth of its population across three decades, and Oradea itself has shrunk. The slack is in the rural communes rather than the city, so the recruitment problem is reach and transport, not a shortage of adverts.
That is the mistake the county’s own manufacturers already corrected. The largest automotive supplier here couldn't fill its shifts from the city, pushed its catchment out to a 50-kilometre radius, and ran 23 works transport routes to do it. Name the pick-up points you can offer, or at least the communes, and your advert reaches the part of the county with slack.
State it separately from salary, as a figure per calendar day, because for a Romanian international driver the daily allowance is a very large part of take-home pay. An advert that quotes only a monthly salary reads as domestic work at domestic rates, however good the package actually is. Domestic and international allowances are treated differently, so label which one applies.
The permis de conducere with the expiry date on the heavy categories, which never runs more than five years. The atestat profesional for marfă or persoane, issued by the road authority and renewed every five years. A valid tachograph card. An ADR certificate where the work needs one. Plus the aviz medical and the aviz psihologic, both current.
Because Romania treats the psychological examination as a condition of work rather than an optional extra, and for safety-critical road transport staff, both recur every year alongside the medical examination. The psychological opinion also forms part of the file for exchanging a foreign licence. Employers used to other member states are routinely caught out by this, and they cannot produce either document retrospectively.
Through a single application filed on the state platform that replaced the old employment notice. The notice was abolished, and anything published about it is out of date. Recruitment is allowed only for occupations on the shortage list, and lorry and coach driving are both on it, which is the part of the system genuinely working in ahaulier’ss favour.
Probably not directly. Filing in your own name requires a trading history, an average headcount above a published threshold and a financial guarantee for each worker, and most Romanian hauliers sit below that headcount. The alternative is an authorised placement agency, which most operators this size will have to use.
Longer than the visa. Immigration clearance gets the driver into Romania and into a job, not onto international work. The operator’s driver attestation requires a Romanian licence and professional qualification, and the tachograph card requires work authorisation first. So it is admission, then licence, then qualification, then attestation, and budgeting only for the visa leaves you months short.
Not on present evidence. The county council contracted a cargo terminal for the airport, but nothing confirms it is operating, so don’t build a vacancy around airside freight here. The confirmed air cargo hub in this region is Cluj-Napoca. If your work feeds a terminal, name the terminal, because a driver will otherwise assume Cluj.
Whether anyone applies, whether a suitable driver is free, whether a candidate attends, whether you hire, whether a permit or visa is granted, whether a foreign licence is recognised, how long an office takes or how long a driver stays. None of that is in a job portal’s gift. Selection, contracting and employment stay with you.
Say which yard the driver reports to, whether the work is intern or pe comunitate, what the trailer is and how the diurnă is paid. Put that on FastDriver.eu and deal with the people who answer on your own terms.
Employers in Bihor recruit, select and employ their drivers directly.
