For South Ostrobothnia Employers
No coast, no land border and little rail freight for the region's main sector: South Ostrobothnia moves by road, on a food production base the regional council itself calls nationally significant. Livestock runs into Nurmo and Kauhajoki, chilled and frozen product runs out to national distribution, and grain, feed and farm machinery fill the roads between. Publishing a vacancy on FastDriver.eu reaches the largest driver catchment of the three Ostrobothnian regions, and candidates beyond it.
Direct hiring, no intermediary • Candidates from the region, the EU and eligible international markets • Permit guidance available under a separate agreement
Eighteen municipalities, eight of them cities, and a freight profile built on food processing, agriculture, metalworking and machinery. Seinäjoki holds about 67,300 residents, and Kurikka, Kauhava, Lapua, Kauhajoki and Ilmajoki each add another 12,000 or more.
Write the vacancy around the round: the C-kortti or CE-kortti required, ammattipätevyys and a current kuljettajakortti, the temperature regime and the delivery windows. Vacancies across Finland are published at www.fastdriver.eu/jobs/finland.
The portal is advertising space for genuine driver vacancies. FastDriver.eu does not recruit as an agency, does not operate as a temporary employment agency, employs no drivers and never becomes a party to your employment contract.
A regional detail that saves time later. State road maintenance across all three Ostrobothnian regions is run from Seinäjoki by the Etelä-Pohjanmaan elinvoimakeskus, so road contacts and permit questions for your routes lead here rather than to Vaasa. The Finland employer page explains the national framework.
Employers in this region recruit for food distribution, chilled retail rounds, livestock and feed haulage, tipper and earthmoving work, and terminal roles that feed the driving pipeline.
Yhdistelmäajoneuvonkuljettaja roles for elintarvikkeiden jakelu with a CE-kortti are the most characteristic vacancy in the region, moving chilled and frozen product out of Nurmo and Seinäjoki. Give the temperature regime, the route length and the hours.
Jakelukuljettaja work on a C-kortti covers shop deliveries across Lapua, Ilmajoki, Kurikka and Kauhava. Backdoor time slots and hygiene discipline define the job, so state the number of drops and whether the driver handles the roll cages.
Haulage into the processing plants at Nurmo and Kauhajoki and feed and grain runs across the farm belt need a CE-kortti and a tolerance for farmyard access. Describe the loading arrangements and any animal transport training the role requires.
Maansiirtoauton kuljettaja vacancies track the construction and aggregates cycle around Seinäjoki and Teuva, often alongside excavator work. Name the sites, the material and whether the role includes machine operation as well as road haulage.
Terminaalityöntekijä and varastotyöntekijä roles at Seinäjoki and Kauhava are the visible route into driving here. Forklift work rests on the employer's written driving permit, so say what you require and what you will fund towards a licence.
Say what the shift really starts at. Food work here runs to night and early morning windows, and an advert that hides that will lose the driver at the end of the first week.
Seinäjoki sits at the centre with Vt3 and Vt19 crossing the region, Vt18 running west to Vaasa and Vt16 east towards Alajärvi. Within 40 kilometres lie Lapua, Ilmajoki, Kurikka, Kauhava and Alavus, which is what makes the catchment work.
That 40 kilometre radius gives a driver catchment well over 130,000 people around a single centre with a main line rail junction, the Roveks multimodal logistics area and the head offices of major food employers. It is the best driver supply geography in the cluster.
Recruit for the pipeline as well as the seat. Warehouse picking, packing and terminal work is where local driving careers start, and combination vehicle training at the Sedu Rengonharju campus sits beside the airport with further campuses at Lapua, Kurikka, Ilmajoki and Ähtäri.
Your drivers share the network with national transit. Vt3 and Vt19 carry the region's highest freight volumes by weight and by value, and the Seinäjoki to Lapua to Kauhava corridor is an identified bottleneck, so schedule realism matters on the roads your food rounds use.
Forest raw material displaced from the closed Suupohja railway now runs on Kt67 through Kauhajoki, Kurikka and Ilmajoki. If your routes cross it, expect heavier lorry traffic than older planning documents describe.
Driver work differs sharply between the capital region, the industrial coast, the eastern border regions and the far north. Open another region to see the hiring information that applies there.
Finnish drivers search in Finnish. An advert written only in English will miss most of the domestic market, and Swedish matters on the west coast and on the islands.
Kuorma-autonkuljettaja is the standard lorry title and linja-autonkuljettaja the bus one. Yhdistelmaajoneuvonkuljettaja covers combination vehicle work, and taysperavaununkuljettaja and puoliperavaununkuljettaja appear where the trailer type is the point.
Distribution work is written as jakelukuljettaja, or as the base title with the work attached, as in elintarvikejakeluun, kappaletavarajakeluun or yojakeluun. CE-kuljettaja is used as a job title in its own right.
Write the licence as C-kortti, CE-kortti or D-kortti. The formal C-luokka form is correct but adverts do not use it, and Finnish employers usually put the category in the headline in brackets rather than burying it in the body.
Ammattipatevyys is the professional competence, carried as code 95. Name it only where the role genuinely needs it.
One term catches employers out. Kuljettajakortti in a Finnish advert means the digital tachograph card, not the competence card, which is the ammattipatevyyskortti. The two are listed separately in real adverts and confusing them will mislead candidates.
Pay is routinely stated as AKT TES mukainen, meaning according to the collective agreement. Adverts also list ADR-kortti and trukkikortti where the work requires them, and tyoturvallisuuskortti is common across logistics roles.
A practical approach is a Finnish advert naming the category and the ammattipatevyys position, with an English version when you also want candidates from outside Finland.
FastDriver.eu operates as a European driver job portal and allows candidates elsewhere in Europe and in eligible international markets to find and apply for suitable Finnish vacancies.
The Finnish Immigration Service, Migri, now decides these applications on its own. The separate labour market decision that the employment office used to issue no longer exists. The driver applies, and the employer then supplements the application with the terms of employment through Enter Finland for Employers.
Two figures shape the offer you can make. The gross salary must reach the published monthly minimum for an employed person, currently 1,600 euros, and supplements such as evening and night work do not count towards it. Driver pay is often built from a base plus supplements, so check the base alone clears the threshold before you advertise.
Availability consideration applies here. Before applying for a driver from outside the EU or EEA, the employer posts the job on Job Market Finland for two weeks on the same terms that the application will carry. The regional work permit guidelines are reviewed twice a year, so check the current position for this region before you plan a timeline.
Employers here may receive applications from drivers based in Finland, elsewhere in the EU and EEA, Switzerland, the wider European region, Asia, Africa, Gulf countries, North America, Latin America and other eligible international markets.
EU, EEA and Swiss citizens may work in Finland without a permit, though a right of residence registration applies beyond three months. Nordic citizens register with the Digital and Population Data Services Agency instead. Licence validity and professional competence requirements still apply to all of them.
Where a Finnish goods operator employs a driver who is a third country national, a driver attestation from Traficom, the kuljettajatodistus, is also required. The operator gives the original to the driver to carry, keeps certified copies and returns it when the employment ends.
A candidate's ability to work here depends on nationality, residence status, professional qualifications, driving licence validity and the requirements of the individual position. Nationality alone never settles it. Drivers can check their own position through our driving licence eligibility guidance.
FastDriver.eu can provide process guidance and document coordination when a candidate needs support. It does not make government decisions and cannot promise an approval.
Name the licence category in the advert. It is the first thing a Finnish driver looks for, and it belongs in the headline.
Freight work uses C and CE, with C1 and C1E for lighter rigid vehicles. Passenger transport uses D and D1. Van and courier roles sit in category B.
Age limits matter when you are planning a pipeline. C and CE open at twenty one, or at eighteen where the driver holds the full professional competence. D opens at twenty four, reduced to twenty three, twenty one or eighteen depending on the qualification held.
Professional drivers in the C and D categories need ammattipatevyys, shown as code 95 on the licence. The initial qualification runs two hundred and eighty hours, or one hundred and forty on the accelerated route by age band, and periodic training runs thirty five hours every five years.
One point widens your field considerably. A driver who already holds competence in one branch can add the other with a thirty five or seventy hour course rather than repeating the initial qualification. That is the route to move an experienced lorry driver into bus work, or the reverse, though it does not by itself grant the licence category.
Foreign licences need care. An EU or EEA licence is valid in Finland while it remains valid. A licence from a contracting state can be exchanged, but a lorry or bus category always requires the full Finnish driving examination, theory and practical. Licences from other recognised states require an examination for every category.
A professional competence obtained outside the EU or EEA is not recognised in Finland. An experienced driver arriving from outside Europe will need the Finnish qualification, or one issued by another EU or EEA state, before they can do the work. Budget realistic time for that rather than discovering it after an offer.
A driver card for the digital tachograph is required on in scope work, and ADR training where the load needs it. A medical certificate applies to the heavy categories and renews more often with age. Say which of these the role actually needs, and remember that verifying the original documents remains the employer's responsibility.

Employers in South Ostrobothnia can use FastDriver.eu to find drivers, advertise genuine vacancies and receive applications through a specialised European driver job portal.
The employer starts by submitting company details, work location, driver category, required licence, number of vacancies, experience level, working schedule, salary information and proposed start date.
The vacancy can then be prepared and promoted to relevant drivers through the platform, alongside the current driver vacancies already open.
Candidates apply for suitable positions. The employer reviews their information, conducts interviews and makes the final hiring decision.
FastDriver.eu does not become the employer. It does not replace the company's legal responsibility for candidate verification, employment contracts, remuneration or working conditions.
Employers that can consider international drivers should clearly state whether work authorisation guidance, visa process support, accommodation or relocation assistance is available.
This information must reflect the employer's actual offer. It must not be added only for search visibility.
Tell us how many drivers you need, the depot or town they work from, the licence category, experience, routes, language requirements and proposed employment conditions.
Our team reviews your company details and checks that the vacancy contains what a Finnish driver needs in order to apply with confidence, including the category, the ammattipatevyys position and the shift.
The vacancy is prepared, published and promoted according to the selected employer option.
Drivers apply through the platform. The employer reviews applications, communicates with suitable candidates and arranges interviews.
The employer makes the final hiring decision, verifies the candidate and signs the employment contract directly with the selected driver.
When separately agreed, FastDriver.eu may provide immigration process guidance, document coordination and relocation preparation for eligible international candidates.
Complete and accurate information helps drivers understand the opportunity and allows the platform team to publish the vacancy correctly.
Do not request unrelated information.
FastDriver.eu provides the digital platform and any separately agreed support services.
The employer is responsible for confirming the vacancy, independently verifying each selected candidate, checking driving licences and the ammattipatevyys position, and meeting all Finnish employment obligations.
FastDriver.eu does not issue government approvals.
FastDriver.eu cannot guarantee applications, candidate availability, candidate suitability, interview attendance, hiring, work authorisation approval, visa approval, licence recognition, processing time or continued employment.
All vacancies must be genuine, current, lawful and accurate.
Employers must not request unlawful recruitment or application payments from candidates.
Because the surrounding towns are close enough to commute from, Seinäjoki has about 67,300 residents, and Lapua, Ilmajoki, Kurikka, Kauhava a, nd Alavus all sit within roughly 40 kilometres, givingit a catchment ofl over 130,000 people. Add a main line rail junction, the Roveks logistics area, and major food employers, and the city becomes a genuine regional recruitment centre.
Food chain work, and it shapes the whole job. Livestock moves into the plants at Nurmo and Kauhajoki, chilled and frozen product moves out to national distribution, and grain, feed and farm inputs fill the rest. That brings temperature control, hygiene discipline, night and early-morning delivery windows, and retail backdoor slots as standard rather than as a specialism.
None. South Ostrobothnia is the most linguistically homogeneous region in Finland, at 97.1 per cent Finnish-speaking, with 637 Swedish speakers (about 0.3 per cent), and none of its 18 municipalities is bilingual—Planan Finnish-only operations and Finnish-only recruitment material. The contrast with the coast 60 kilometres west, where twelve municipalities have Swedish-speaking majorities, is sharp.
Sedu delivers the logistics vocational qualification with lorry driver and combination vehicle driver paths, and runs the combination training specifically at its Rengonharju campus beside Seinäjoki airport, producing graduates with the E entitlement, the basic professional competence and the required certificate courses. Campuses in Lapua, Kurikka, Ilmajoki, and Ähtäri bring training within commuting distance for most of the region.
Yes, and it is how much of the local workforce arrives. Warehouse, picking, packing and terminal roles are advertised continuously by food employers at Seinäjoki and Kauhava, and the local training route can take a picker or packer to a CE seat. An employer advertising only for experienced CE drivers is fishing in the smallest part of the pool.
Vt3 and Vt19 above all, since they carry the region’s highest freight volumes by both weight and value, with Vt18 running west to Vaasa and Vt16 east through Lapua to Alajärvi. The region also absorbs heavy transit between northern and southern Finland that neither starts nor ends here, so local routes share the network with long-distance flows.
Serious enough to plan around. The Seinäjoki to Lapua to Kauhava corridor is a significant bottleneck, and there is an active regional campaign for a four-lane Vt19 between Seinäjoki and Lapua. Delivery windows built on best-case running times will fail there, particularly on food rounds where a missed retail slot cannot simply be rescheduled.
None inside the region, because it is landlocked. In practice, the sea outlets are Kaskinen on Kt67, Vaasa on Vt18 and Pori to the south. That is worth stating in a vacancy if the work involves port collections, because it turns what looks like a local job into one with regular runs out of the region.
For timber, partly. Seinäjoki is one ofFinland’ss most important rail junctions, on the electrified double-track main line, with the Vaasa and Haapamäki lines diverging there, and regional rail freight concentrates on raw timber, with loading facilities at Alavus and Härmä. Food distribution, is not an option, so thisregion’ss core sector is entirely road-based.
It is the region’s named multimodal logistics development area in Seinäjoki, sited where the eastern bypass meets the Haapamäki rail line and designed to combine transport modes. For a driver employer, it is the right place to point candidates towards when describing where the work is based, and the natural location to consider for a terminal or depot.
It publishes your driver vacancy and puts it in front of candidates in this region, elsewhere in Finland, across Europe and in eligible international markets. Applicationscome directlyn to yo;, you decide who to interview, and no third party sits between the company and the driver. It is advertising reach, not a recruitment service.
No. It is a driver job portal. It is not a recruitment agency or a temporary employment agency; i;t employs no drivers a,nd supplies no workers under hire. Since much of the region’s visible driver demand is advertised through staffing firms, the distinction is practical: here the driver is employed by you, directly, on your terms.
Legally operating hauliers and distribution companies, food and dairy processors, livestock and feed transporters, agricultural contractors, construction and earthmoving firms, terminal operators and licensed passenger transport companies. The job must be genuine, and the pay (commonly quoted as AKT TES mukainen), the shift pattern, and the base town must match what is eventually offered.
Name the category as drivers write it, C-kortti or CE-kortti, and list ammattipätevyys and kuljettajakortti separately, since the second means the digital tachograph card rather than the competence card. C and CE can be held froage m 21, ofrom r 18 wite full professional competence. A driver qualified for lorries can add bus work through a shorter course rather than repeating the initial qualification.
Yes, with the permit route planned for. Only Pirkanmaa and Kanta-Häme currently exempt lorry and special vehicle drivers from availability consideration, so expect to post the job on Job Market Finland for two weeks on the same terms first, and check the regional guideline in force. Cross-border hiring here means drivers arriving through Seinäjoki rather than local drivers leaving.
It does not guarantee applications, candidate availability or suitability, interview attendance, a hire, a permit or visa decision, licence recognition, processing time or how long a driver remains. It does not verify documents for you, and it does not become the employer. Where authorisation is needed, guidance and document coordination are available under a separate agreement.
Advertise a driver vacancy for Seinäjoki, Nurmo, Lapua, Kurikka or Kauhava, and reach the region's food distribution drivers along with candidates elsewhere in Finland, in Europe and in eligible international markets.
Employers in this region advertise, interview and take drivers onto their own payroll.
