For Central Finland Employers
Central Finland is a crossroads rather than a terminus. Six national roads meet at or run through Jyväskylä, including the longest highway in the country, so a driver based here can turn out in any direction without repositioning empty. It is also the only inland region in this part of Finland with no border exposure, no Saimaa access and no port dependency at all. Publishing a vacancy on FastDriver.eu reaches the largest and most concentrated driver pool in inland Finland.
One advert, the whole Jyväskylä pool • European and international candidate reach • Separate agreement for permit process guidance
Central Finland concentrates its people the way it concentrates its roads. Seven in ten residents live in the Jyväskylä sub-region, and the region's freight is road and rail only, with the bioproduct mill at Äänekoski taking the largest single timber flow in inland Finland.
Name the category as C-kortti or CE-kortti, say whether ammattipätevyys must already be valid, and list the kuljettajakortti separately where a tachograph applies. Put the work in the title the way local adverts do. Finnish listings run at www.fastdriver.eu/jobs/finland.
FastDriver.eu is a driver job portal and stays one. No recruitment agency function, no temporary employment agency function, no drivers on its own books and nobody supplied under hire. Your company remains the employer throughout.
Worth knowing before you plan an international hire here: the region's combination vehicle driver route at Gradia, Ajoneuvontie 21 in Lievestuore, runs 10 to 16 months but is taught entirely in Finnish, and applicants must be 18 at the start with at least a category B licence and a clean record. That shapes the specification from the beginning. The Finland employer page covers the national rules.
Employers here recruit timber drivers for the Äänekoski flow, abnormal and heavy load drivers, crane lorry drivers, trunk and groupage drivers through the junction, and bus drivers on the city and regional networks.
The Äänekoski bioproduct mill takes 6.5 million cubic metres of wood a year, arriving as 240 timber lorries and 70 rail wagons daily. Advertise as yhdistelmäajoneuvonkuljettaja with CE-kortti, name the mill, and say that the flow is continuous rather than seasonal.
Heavy and abnormal transport is a genuine local specialism, anchored in Jyväskylä and fed by machinery production in the city. Advertise with CE-kortti and describe the rest honestly: permits, escorts, route surveys, night movements and long planning lead times.
Crane lorry and lifting work is more common here than in neighbouring regions. Follow local practice and put nosturi in the title alongside the category, state the crane size and reach, and say whether lifting certification is required on the start date or will be funded.
Six national roads converge on the city and the groupage terminal sits at Leppävesi in Laukaa. Publish as kuorma-autonkuljettaja or CE-kuljettaja with CE-kortti, and say which direction the leg runs, because a driver here can work north, south, east or west.
Jyväskylä hosts part of Finland's largest bus company, so passenger operators compete directly for D-kortti holders. Publish linja-autonkuljettaja vacancies with D-kortti and ammattipätevyys, and say whether the work is a city service, a regional route or long distance coach driving.
Say which of these the vacancy really is. This region carries the heaviest live driver advertising of the inland regions, so a generic advert sits unread beside a dozen specific ones.
Central Finland sits inland with Jyväskylä at its centre, where Vt 4 and Vt 9 cross. Äänekoski lies north on Vt 4 and Vt 13, Jämsä south on Vt 9 with Vt 24 running across to Lahti, and Laukaa immediately north east of the city.
Recruit into the Jyväskylä travel to work area first. It holds 193,254 people, around seven in ten of the region's residents, and it is where the agencies, the terminal and most driver advertising already sit.
An Äänekoski vacancy can promise something unusual: a fixed daily flow of 240 lorries into one gate that persists through economic cycles. Say that in the advert rather than leaving a candidate to guess at volume.
Advertise winter seasonal work early. Equipment operator roles for the coming winter were already running in Jyväskylä and Muurame during late summer, so an autumn start puts you months behind competitors.
A base at Keuruu or Saarijärvi draws on a shrinking pool with no training campus nearby. If that is your depot, price the travel from Jyväskylä into the offer and say so openly in the advert.
Driver work differs sharply between the capital region, the industrial coast, the eastern border regions and the far north. Open another region to see the hiring information that applies there.
Finnish drivers search in Finnish. An advert written only in English will miss most of the domestic market, and Swedish matters on the west coast and on the islands.
Kuorma-autonkuljettaja is the standard lorry title and linja-autonkuljettaja the bus one. Yhdistelmaajoneuvonkuljettaja covers combination vehicle work, and taysperavaununkuljettaja and puoliperavaununkuljettaja appear where the trailer type is the point.
Distribution work is written as jakelukuljettaja, or as the base title with the work attached, as in elintarvikejakeluun, kappaletavarajakeluun or yojakeluun. CE-kuljettaja is used as a job title in its own right.
Write the licence as C-kortti, CE-kortti or D-kortti. The formal C-luokka form is correct but adverts do not use it, and Finnish employers usually put the category in the headline in brackets rather than burying it in the body.
Ammattipatevyys is the professional competence, carried as code 95. Name it only where the role genuinely needs it.
One term catches employers out. Kuljettajakortti in a Finnish advert means the digital tachograph card, not the competence card, which is the ammattipatevyyskortti. The two are listed separately in real adverts and confusing them will mislead candidates.
Pay is routinely stated as AKT TES mukainen, meaning according to the collective agreement. Adverts also list ADR-kortti and trukkikortti where the work requires them, and tyoturvallisuuskortti is common across logistics roles.
A practical approach is a Finnish advert naming the category and the ammattipatevyys position, with an English version when you also want candidates from outside Finland.
FastDriver.eu operates as a European driver job portal and allows candidates elsewhere in Europe and in eligible international markets to find and apply for suitable Finnish vacancies.
The Finnish Immigration Service, Migri, now decides these applications on its own. The separate labour market decision that the employment office used to issue no longer exists. The driver applies, and the employer then supplements the application with the terms of employment through Enter Finland for Employers.
Two figures shape the offer you can make. The gross salary must reach the published monthly minimum for an employed person, currently 1,600 euros, and supplements such as evening and night work do not count towards it. Driver pay is often built from a base plus supplements, so check the base alone clears the threshold before you advertise.
Availability consideration applies here. Before applying for a driver from outside the EU or EEA, the employer posts the job on Job Market Finland for two weeks on the same terms that the application will carry. The regional work permit guidelines are reviewed twice a year, so check the current position for this region before you plan a timeline.
Employers here may receive applications from drivers based in Finland, elsewhere in the EU and EEA, Switzerland, the wider European region, Asia, Africa, Gulf countries, North America, Latin America and other eligible international markets.
EU, EEA and Swiss citizens may work in Finland without a permit, though a right of residence registration applies beyond three months. Nordic citizens register with the Digital and Population Data Services Agency instead. Licence validity and professional competence requirements still apply to all of them.
Where a Finnish goods operator employs a driver who is a third country national, a driver attestation from Traficom, the kuljettajatodistus, is also required. The operator gives the original to the driver to carry, keeps certified copies and returns it when the employment ends.
A candidate's ability to work here depends on nationality, residence status, professional qualifications, driving licence validity and the requirements of the individual position. Nationality alone never settles it. Drivers can check their own position through our driving licence eligibility guidance.
FastDriver.eu can provide process guidance and document coordination when a candidate needs support. It does not make government decisions and cannot promise an approval.
Name the licence category in the advert. It is the first thing a Finnish driver looks for, and it belongs in the headline.
Freight work uses C and CE, with C1 and C1E for lighter rigid vehicles. Passenger transport uses D and D1. Van and courier roles sit in category B.
Age limits matter when you are planning a pipeline. C and CE open at twenty one, or at eighteen where the driver holds the full professional competence. D opens at twenty four, reduced to twenty three, twenty one or eighteen depending on the qualification held.
Professional drivers in the C and D categories need ammattipatevyys, shown as code 95 on the licence. The initial qualification runs two hundred and eighty hours, or one hundred and forty on the accelerated route by age band, and periodic training runs thirty five hours every five years.
One point widens your field considerably. A driver who already holds competence in one branch can add the other with a thirty five or seventy hour course rather than repeating the initial qualification. That is the route to move an experienced lorry driver into bus work, or the reverse, though it does not by itself grant the licence category.
Foreign licences need care. An EU or EEA licence is valid in Finland while it remains valid. A licence from a contracting state can be exchanged, but a lorry or bus category always requires the full Finnish driving examination, theory and practical. Licences from other recognised states require an examination for every category.
A professional competence obtained outside the EU or EEA is not recognised in Finland. An experienced driver arriving from outside Europe will need the Finnish qualification, or one issued by another EU or EEA state, before they can do the work. Budget realistic time for that rather than discovering it after an offer.
A driver card for the digital tachograph is required on in scope work, and ADR training where the load needs it. A medical certificate applies to the heavy categories and renews more often with age. Say which of these the role actually needs, and remember that verifying the original documents remains the employer's responsibility.

Employers in Central Finland can use FastDriver.eu to find drivers, advertise genuine vacancies and receive applications through a specialised European driver job portal.
The employer starts by submitting company details, work location, driver category, required licence, number of vacancies, experience level, working schedule, salary information and proposed start date.
The vacancy can then be prepared and promoted to relevant drivers through the platform, alongside the current driver vacancies already open.
Candidates apply for suitable positions. The employer reviews their information, conducts interviews and makes the final hiring decision.
FastDriver.eu does not become the employer. It does not replace the company's legal responsibility for candidate verification, employment contracts, remuneration or working conditions.
Employers that can consider international drivers should clearly state whether work authorisation guidance, visa process support, accommodation or relocation assistance is available.
This information must reflect the employer's actual offer. It must not be added only for search visibility.
Tell us how many drivers you need, the depot or town they work from, the licence category, experience, routes, language requirements and proposed employment conditions.
Our team reviews your company details and checks that the vacancy contains what a Finnish driver needs in order to apply with confidence, including the category, the ammattipatevyys position and the shift.
The vacancy is prepared, published and promoted according to the selected employer option.
Drivers apply through the platform. The employer reviews applications, communicates with suitable candidates and arranges interviews.
The employer makes the final hiring decision, verifies the candidate and signs the employment contract directly with the selected driver.
When separately agreed, FastDriver.eu may provide immigration process guidance, document coordination and relocation preparation for eligible international candidates.
Complete and accurate information helps drivers understand the opportunity and allows the platform team to publish the vacancy correctly.
Do not request unrelated information.
FastDriver.eu provides the digital platform and any separately agreed support services.
The employer is responsible for confirming the vacancy, independently verifying each selected candidate, checking driving licences and the ammattipatevyys position, and meeting all Finnish employment obligations.
FastDriver.eu does not issue government approvals.
FastDriver.eu cannot guarantee applications, candidate availability, candidate suitability, interview attendance, hiring, work authorisation approval, visa approval, licence recognition, processing time or continued employment.
All vacancies must be genuine, current, lawful and accurate.
Employers must not request unlawful recruitment or application payments from candidates.
In three structural ways that all relate to the advert. It has no Russian border, so none of the closure effects applies directly. It sits on Lake Päijänne rather than the Saimaa system, so the canal is irrelevant here, and there is no commercially significant freight port. And Jyväskylä is a junction rather than a terminus, so work runs in every direction instead of arriving and stopping.
It is the densest single timber gate in inland Finland. The bioproduct mill consumes 6.5 million cubic metres of wood a year, arriving as 240 timber lorries and 70 rail wagons every day, around 1,680 lorry deliveries a week. The flow is continuous rather than seasonal, so a vacancy tied to it can honestly be described as steady work right through the year.
It is, and it is a separate career track rather than a variation on trailer work. Kuljetusliike Ville Silvasti in Jyväskylä bought a vehicle centre at Seppälänkangas and acquired a Danish company to become, onYle’ss reporting, the largest in Northern Europe in its field. Valmet’s machinery production in the city feeds the same market. These roles require permit, escort, and route-survey competence.
The published evidence says so, which is rare in inland Finland. New vacancies in the process and transport worker occupational group rose 37.3 per cent year on year in a recent month, the second largest growth rate of any occupational category in the region. Live driver advertising volume was also the highest of the inland regions, which means genuine competition for the same applicants.
At Gradia’s Lievestuore campus in Laukaa, Ajoneuvontie 21, about 25 kilometres from Jyväskylä. The combination vehicle driver path is 180 competence points, includes the CE licence and the professional transport qualifications, and runs for 10 to 16 months. It is taught entirely in Finnish, and applicants must be 18 at the start with at least a category B licence and a clean record.
Earlier than feels natural. Equipment operator roles for the coming winter were already being advertised in Jyväskylä and Muurame during late summer, so an employer starting in autumn is entering a market where competitors have been hiring for months. If the vacancy is winter maintenance work, put that in the title the way local adverts do, next to the licence category.
None of commercial significance, and it is worth saying rather than letting a reader assume. Central Finland sits on Lake Päijänne, not the Saimaa system, and no Central Finland port appears in the national Saimaa port listing. The freight system here is road and rail only, which also means none of the waterway disruptions further east bear on an operation based in this region.
Proportionally, it is the heaviest of the inland regions, which the headline number hides. Roughly 280 kilometres of gravel road carried weight restrictions in the most recent measured season, fewer than the 490 kilometres further east. But the state gravel network here is much smaller, around 2,430 kilometres, so about 11.5 per cent was restricted, compared with roughly three per cent in North Savo.
It publishes your driver vacancy on a specialised portal and promotes it to driver audiences in Finland, across Europe and in eligible international markets. The applications come to you. In a region carrying the heaviest live driver advertising of the inland regions, the value lies in the advert being specific and reaching the right people, not in anyone selecting candidates for you.
It is not. FastDriver.eu is a job portal, not a recruitment agency and not a temporary employment agency. It employs no drivers and supplies none under hire. Your company writes the vacancy, receives the applications, runs the interviews and signs the contract. That distinction applies to a timber vacancy in Äänekoski and an abnormal load role in the city alike.
It does. Lorry and special vehicle drivers, ISCO code 8332, are listed in the Sisä-Suomi work permit guideline, which covers Pirkanmaa and Kanta-Häme only. Central Finland is not in that guideline, so on a first application,n the employer must post the job on Job Market Finland for two weeks on the same terms before applying. Migri thendecides ons the permit.
The marking on a Finnish licence showing valid professional competence. The initial qualification is 280 hours, or 140 hours in the accelerated form, and it is kept current with 35 hours of periodic training every five years. Adverts here normally ask for C-kortti, ammattipätevyys and kuljettajakortti together, so make clear which of the three a driver must already hold.
Commonly as AKT TES mukainen, meaning in line with the transport sector collective agreement. If your offer sits above the agreement, say so and say how, because a bare reference tells a candidate very little. Where a residence permit is involved, note that evening and night supplements do not count towards the 1,600 euro monthly gross minimum.
A Finnish goods operator employing a third-country national driver needs a kuljettajatodistus, the driver attestation issued by Traficom. It is separate from the licence, ammattipätevyys, and the tachograph card, and it takes time to obtain. Build it into the start date rather than treating it as a formality after the contract is signed.
Submit the requirement with the depot location (city, Äänekoski, Jämsä, or Laukaa), the licence category, the type of work, the hours, and the pay information, or publish the vacancy directly. Applications come back to your team, which interviews and selects. You can arrange permit process guidance and document coordination separately if a candidate needs it.
Publish a Central Finland driver vacancy and reach the concentrated Jyväskylä pool, the wider region and candidates across Europe and eligible international markets. Name the direction, the load and the licence, and the applications reach you.
Employers in Central Finland recruit, interview, select and employ their drivers themselves.
