For Päijät-Häme Employers
Lahti sits where Vt4 and Vt12 cross, which makes this a distribution region: palletised food, drink, confectionery and furniture heading out to retail customers, with a wood chip and timber layer underneath it. Advertising here also means advertising against the capital, because Helsinki is an hour away by road and by direct train and a large share of local workers already make that journey. Publish on FastDriver.eu, reach drivers locally and abroad, and take the applications yourself.
Applications come straight to you • Finnish, European and eligible international reach • Document coordination under a separate agreement
Ten municipalities gathered around Lahti, on the main north to south freight road of the country. The manufacturing base is furniture, beverages, malt and confectionery, so a typical load fills the trailer by cube long before it fills it by weight.
Build the advert around the round itself: the logistics area, the category as C-kortti or CE-kortti, whether ammattipätevyys is held or funded, and the delivery window the driver has to meet. Vacancies across Finland sit at www.fastdriver.eu/jobs/finland.
What you are using is a portal, not an agency. FastDriver.eu does not employ drivers, does not place them under hire and takes no part in your selection. The contract, the induction and the employment relationship all belong to you.
Worth knowing locally: drivers here recognise the industrial areas by name, so an advert that says Nostava or Pennala tells a candidate their own commute in a way the word Lahti never will. The Finland employer page covers licences, competence and permits nationally.
Employers here recruit retail distribution drivers, combination vehicle drivers for national runs, wood chip and timber drivers, materials handling operators and accessible passenger transport drivers.
Publish jakelukuljettaja vacancies in C-kortti for food, drink and confectionery moving out to shops. State the start time, the number of drops, whether a tail lift or roll cages are involved and whether the vehicle is temperature controlled.
Yhdistelmäajoneuvonkuljettaja work in CE-kortti runs north on Vt4 towards Jyväskylä and Oulu, south to the capital region, or east and west on Vt12. Say which direction the job takes and whether the driver sleeps away from home.
Hakeauton kuljettaja and puutavara-autonkuljettaja roles are advertised repeatedly in this region and rarely elsewhere in southern Finland. The rhythm is set by the mill and the forest landing, so state the crane, the access conditions and the shift pattern.
Kurottajan kuljettaja and wheel loader work recurs around Heinola and Vierumäki, often on three shift rotation. Where the role is site based rather than road based, say so early, and list the machine tickets separately from any driving licence.
Accessible taxi driving is recruited at Lahti and Orimattila. Passenger work carries its own licence and competence requirements, distinct from goods transport, so set out what the vehicle is, what assistance the passengers need and what training you provide.
Describe the round accurately. A driver who applies for a palletised retail shift and arrives to find a chip trailer and a forest landing will not stay, and the advert is where that is settled.
Päijät-Häme spreads around Lahti, an hour north of Helsinki on Vt4, with most of the industrial land along the Vt12 ring road to the south and west of the city and the smaller municipalities running north along Päijänne.
Lahti holds most of the vacancies, with the Pippo-Kujala area expanding and Paassilta-Hopeallio alongside it. Hollola carries Nostava and Kukonkoivu, and Orimattila carries Pennala, all of them on or near Vt12.
Heinola and Vierumäki generate materials handling rather than haulage, and Iitti sits at the eastern end of the region on the road towards Kouvola. Kärkölä and Asikkala are corridor villages rather than freight generators.
Name the zone in the advert and give the start time. A candidate comparing your vacancy with a capital region job is weighing a fifteen minute drive against an hour of train, and only you can put that on the page.
Be careful with the rate. Some of the lowest published driver rates in southern Finland have appeared in this region, in the very place where an hour's travel reaches a larger and better paid market.
Driver work differs sharply between the capital region, the industrial coast, the eastern border regions and the far north. Open another region to see the hiring information that applies there.
Finnish drivers search in Finnish. An advert written only in English will miss most of the domestic market, and Swedish matters on the west coast and on the islands.
Kuorma-autonkuljettaja is the standard lorry title and linja-autonkuljettaja the bus one. Yhdistelmaajoneuvonkuljettaja covers combination vehicle work, and taysperavaununkuljettaja and puoliperavaununkuljettaja appear where the trailer type is the point.
Distribution work is written as jakelukuljettaja, or as the base title with the work attached, as in elintarvikejakeluun, kappaletavarajakeluun or yojakeluun. CE-kuljettaja is used as a job title in its own right.
Write the licence as C-kortti, CE-kortti or D-kortti. The formal C-luokka form is correct but adverts do not use it, and Finnish employers usually put the category in the headline in brackets rather than burying it in the body.
Ammattipatevyys is the professional competence, carried as code 95. Name it only where the role genuinely needs it.
One term catches employers out. Kuljettajakortti in a Finnish advert means the digital tachograph card, not the competence card, which is the ammattipatevyyskortti. The two are listed separately in real adverts and confusing them will mislead candidates.
Pay is routinely stated as AKT TES mukainen, meaning according to the collective agreement. Adverts also list ADR-kortti and trukkikortti where the work requires them, and tyoturvallisuuskortti is common across logistics roles.
A practical approach is a Finnish advert naming the category and the ammattipatevyys position, with an English version when you also want candidates from outside Finland.
FastDriver.eu operates as a European driver job portal and allows candidates elsewhere in Europe and in eligible international markets to find and apply for suitable Finnish vacancies.
The Finnish Immigration Service, Migri, now decides these applications on its own. The separate labour market decision that the employment office used to issue no longer exists. The driver applies, and the employer then supplements the application with the terms of employment through Enter Finland for Employers.
Two figures shape the offer you can make. The gross salary must reach the published monthly minimum for an employed person, currently 1,600 euros, and supplements such as evening and night work do not count towards it. Driver pay is often built from a base plus supplements, so check the base alone clears the threshold before you advertise.
Availability consideration applies here. Before applying for a driver from outside the EU or EEA, the employer posts the job on Job Market Finland for two weeks on the same terms that the application will carry. The regional work permit guidelines are reviewed twice a year, so check the current position for this region before you plan a timeline.
Employers here may receive applications from drivers based in Finland, elsewhere in the EU and EEA, Switzerland, the wider European region, Asia, Africa, Gulf countries, North America, Latin America and other eligible international markets.
EU, EEA and Swiss citizens may work in Finland without a permit, though a right of residence registration applies beyond three months. Nordic citizens register with the Digital and Population Data Services Agency instead. Licence validity and professional competence requirements still apply to all of them.
Where a Finnish goods operator employs a driver who is a third country national, a driver attestation from Traficom, the kuljettajatodistus, is also required. The operator gives the original to the driver to carry, keeps certified copies and returns it when the employment ends.
A candidate's ability to work here depends on nationality, residence status, professional qualifications, driving licence validity and the requirements of the individual position. Nationality alone never settles it. Drivers can check their own position through our driving licence eligibility guidance.
FastDriver.eu can provide process guidance and document coordination when a candidate needs support. It does not make government decisions and cannot promise an approval.
Name the licence category in the advert. It is the first thing a Finnish driver looks for, and it belongs in the headline.
Freight work uses C and CE, with C1 and C1E for lighter rigid vehicles. Passenger transport uses D and D1. Van and courier roles sit in category B.
Age limits matter when you are planning a pipeline. C and CE open at twenty one, or at eighteen where the driver holds the full professional competence. D opens at twenty four, reduced to twenty three, twenty one or eighteen depending on the qualification held.
Professional drivers in the C and D categories need ammattipatevyys, shown as code 95 on the licence. The initial qualification runs two hundred and eighty hours, or one hundred and forty on the accelerated route by age band, and periodic training runs thirty five hours every five years.
One point widens your field considerably. A driver who already holds competence in one branch can add the other with a thirty five or seventy hour course rather than repeating the initial qualification. That is the route to move an experienced lorry driver into bus work, or the reverse, though it does not by itself grant the licence category.
Foreign licences need care. An EU or EEA licence is valid in Finland while it remains valid. A licence from a contracting state can be exchanged, but a lorry or bus category always requires the full Finnish driving examination, theory and practical. Licences from other recognised states require an examination for every category.
A professional competence obtained outside the EU or EEA is not recognised in Finland. An experienced driver arriving from outside Europe will need the Finnish qualification, or one issued by another EU or EEA state, before they can do the work. Budget realistic time for that rather than discovering it after an offer.
A driver card for the digital tachograph is required on in scope work, and ADR training where the load needs it. A medical certificate applies to the heavy categories and renews more often with age. Say which of these the role actually needs, and remember that verifying the original documents remains the employer's responsibility.

Employers in Päijät-Häme can use FastDriver.eu to find drivers, advertise genuine vacancies and receive applications through a specialised European driver job portal.
The employer starts by submitting company details, work location, driver category, required licence, number of vacancies, experience level, working schedule, salary information and proposed start date.
The vacancy can then be prepared and promoted to relevant drivers through the platform, alongside the current driver vacancies already open.
Candidates apply for suitable positions. The employer reviews their information, conducts interviews and makes the final hiring decision.
FastDriver.eu does not become the employer. It does not replace the company's legal responsibility for candidate verification, employment contracts, remuneration or working conditions.
Employers that can consider international drivers should clearly state whether work authorisation guidance, visa process support, accommodation or relocation assistance is available.
This information must reflect the employer's actual offer. It must not be added only for search visibility.
Tell us how many drivers you need, the depot or town they work from, the licence category, experience, routes, language requirements and proposed employment conditions.
Our team reviews your company details and checks that the vacancy contains what a Finnish driver needs in order to apply with confidence, including the category, the ammattipatevyys position and the shift.
The vacancy is prepared, published and promoted according to the selected employer option.
Drivers apply through the platform. The employer reviews applications, communicates with suitable candidates and arranges interviews.
The employer makes the final hiring decision, verifies the candidate and signs the employment contract directly with the selected driver.
When separately agreed, FastDriver.eu may provide immigration process guidance, document coordination and relocation preparation for eligible international candidates.
Complete and accurate information helps drivers understand the opportunity and allows the platform team to publish the vacancy correctly.
Do not request unrelated information.
FastDriver.eu provides the digital platform and any separately agreed support services.
The employer is responsible for confirming the vacancy, independently verifying each selected candidate, checking driving licences and the ammattipatevyys position, and meeting all Finnish employment obligations.
FastDriver.eu does not issue government approvals.
FastDriver.eu cannot guarantee applications, candidate availability, candidate suitability, interview attendance, hiring, work authorisation approval, visa approval, licence recognition, processing time or continued employment.

It publishes your driver vacancy on a portal used only for driver jobs. It shows it to candidates in the region, across Finland, across Europe, and in eligible international markets. Everything after that is yours: the replies arrive at your company, you choose who to see, and you make the offer.
No, and the distinction matters for how you use the page. FastDriver.eu is a job portal. It is not a recruitment agency or a temporary employment agency; it employs no drivers and never supplies staff under hire. Your company remains the employer throughout, including for pay, insurance and working time.
Legally operating hauliers, distribution and logistics companies in the Lahti area zones, manufacturers running their own delivery fleets, timber and chip transport businesses, plant and materials handling contractors, and licensed passenger transport operators. The vacancy must be genuine,, and the termsmusto match what you offer at interview.
That is the risk to design around. About a third of working residents already commute outside their home municipality, and roughly two fifths of those work in another region, mainly the capital. Your advantages are a fifteen-minute commute, no season ticket, predictable finishing times, and a named site. Say all four in the advert, because a Helsinki employer cannot.
Use the ones drivers already know: Pippo-Kujala and Paassilta-Hopeallio in Lahti, Nostava and Kukonkoivu in Hollola, and Pennala in Orimattila. A local candidate converts any of those names into a commute time immediately, which is more useful to them than the region name and more useful to you than a postcode.
The regional economy carries a sawmill and plastics layer alongside its furniture and beverage manufacturing, and chip and round timber vehicles are advertised here in a way they are not in the neighbouring regions. For an employer, that means a local pool with crane and forest landing experience, which is worth asking about even for a distribution vacancy.
Unusually good for an inland town. Vt4 is thecountry’ss main north-to-south artery and runs through the city, so a driver reaches Jyväskylä and Oulu northbound or the capital southbound without changing road number. At the same time, Vt12 opens Tampere in one direction and Kouvola in the other. The Lahti southern ring road, part of Vt12, carries about 20,000 vehicles a day.
No. The region is landlocked, and its sea outlet is Vuosaari in Helsinki, about an hour away, with Helsinki-Vantaa handling the air freight. Driver work here is distribution, national trunk running, timber and materials handling. A candidate who wants quayside container work will look towards Kymenlaakso or the Satakunta coast instead.
Koulutuskeskus Salpaus in Lahti runs the logistiikan perustutkinto and is theregion's only prominent providen. That means one relationship does the work three do in Kanta-Häme, so an employer planning volume should approach it early about apprenticeships and work placements rather than waiting for finished candidates to appear.
In this region, yes. Driver occupations are not currently listed in the work permit guideline that covers Päijät-Häme, so the job goes on Job Market Finland for two weeks on the same terms as the permit application before you apply to Migri. The guidelines are reissued every six months at elinvoimakeskus.fi/tyolupalinjaus.
Kaakkois-Suomen elinvoimakeskus, based in Kouvola with an office in Lahti, also covers Kymenlaakso and South Karelia. This surprises people who still pair the region with Kanta-Häme administratively, so if an internal template or supplier contract names the old body or the old grouping, it is worth correcting before you file anything.
A genuine vacancy on ordinary terms. Migri decides the residence permit for an employed person, and the gross minimum is measured on base pay, with evening and night supplements left out, which matters in distribution where those supplements are real money. A Finnish goods operator also needs a driver attestation, kuljettajatodistus, from Traficom for a third-country national.
EU and EEA licences stay valid while they are valid. A licence from a contracting state can be exchanged. However, any lorry or bus category still requires the full Finnish driving examination, and other recognised states need an examination for each category. Professional competence obtained outside the EU or EEA carries no recognition in Finland.
State a figure or say that pay follows the AKT collective agreement, which is standard wording in Finnish driver adverts. Given that candidates here compare your vacancy against capital region alternatives, a missing rate reads as a low rate. Publish what you will actually pay, including how shift supplements are handled.
Your company, at every stage. You read the applications, arrange the interviews, inspect the original licence, the ammattipätevyys and the tachograph card, confirm the right to work, and sign the contract. FastDriver.eu can coordinate documents under a separate agreement, but it tdoes not make decisionsthat bbelongto an authority or to you.
Applications, candidate availability, whether anyone suitable applies, interview attendance, a completed hire, permit or visa approval, recognition of a licence or qualification, processing time, or how long a driver stays with you. A portal can give your vacancy reach and clarity. It cannot give you an outcome, and it should not claim to.
Put your Päijät-Häme vacancy in front of drivers in Lahti and Hollola, elsewhere in Finland, across Europe and in eligible international markets. Name the logistics area, state the shift, and read the applications as they arrive.
Selection and employment stay with the Päijät-Häme company throughout.
