For Bourgogne-Franche-Comté Employers
Bourgogne-Franche-Comté keeps the prefecture in Dijon and the regional council in Besancon, and its driver market is spread just as widely. Logistics accounts for about 7.7% of salaried employment, warehouses average smaller than the national norm, and the live adverts read for this page came from Beaune, Montchanin, Sellieres, Montmorot, Saint-Amour and Lons-le-Saunier as much as from the two cities. Construction titles run through the sample: travaux publics, BTP, porte-char and enrobes.
Your vacancy, your shortlist • Applications straight to you • Work authorisation guidance by separate agreement
Eight departements and about 2.8 million residents, with the population falling while France as a whole grows. Logistics employs roughly 54,600 salaried people, split about evenly between transport work and warehouse handling, and Cote-d'Or and Saone-et-Loire hold half the regional warehouse stock.
Write the licence in: permis C where the vehicle is a rigid, permis CE for a tractor unit and semi-trailer, with FIMO held and FCO current stated rather than assumed. For construction work, name the body type and say whether a porte-char or an enrobes trailer is involved. Vacancies go live at www.fastdriver.eu/jobs/france.
FastDriver.eu is a place to advertise and nothing more. It is neither a recruitment agency nor an interim business, it never employs a driver, and nobody is ever hired out to work under your direction as an agency would do. Applications arrive with you, and the employment relationship starts and ends with your company.
A practical local point: the prefecture sits at Dijon but the regional council sits at Besancon, and the council's own site runs on a .eu domain while the .com address belongs to tourism. Employers looking for regional schemes regularly land on the wrong one. The France employer page covers the national process.
Employers here advertise public works driving, low-loader and plant movement, asphalt haulage, relay runs on the motorway crossroads, and regional distribution on permis CE.
Public works haulage on permis CE, advertised as chauffeur SPL BTP or conducteur SPL travaux publics, and captured in the live sample at Besancon and Montbeliard. Site work brings variable hours and access constraints, so describe the sites and how loading is organised.
Plant and machine movement on a low-loader, on permis CE. The job turns on loading and securing tracked and wheeled plant, so say what is carried and how it is loaded. Where the driver also operates handling equipment, the autorisation de conduite is yours to issue.
Asphalt haulage on permis CE, advertised in this region at Lons-le-Saunier on a permanent contract. The work follows surfacing programmes, which means seasonal peaks and early starts. Put that in the advert rather than leaving it for the interview, because it decides who applies.
Relay and trunk changeover work on permis CE, advertised at Dijon, which sits near the point where A6, A31 and A36 traffic converges at Beaune. Relay driving means a fixed leg and a handover rather than a full run. Name the changeover point and the shift.
Regional distribution on permis CE. Groupe M.T.A at Pagny-le-Chateau is the one haulage employer confirmed here both as an expanding investor and as a live permanent advertiser. Multi-drop work out of mid-sized warehouses is the shape of distribution driving in this region.
Titles in this region carry a modifier that does the filtering: BTP, porte-char, enrobes, relais. An advert headed only chauffeur SPL tells a driver nothing about the equipment, and equipment is what drivers choose on here.
The region runs from the Yonne down to the Swiss border, with Dijon Metropole at about 258,600 residents and Grand Besancon Metropole at about 198,400. Between those two poles, driver work is scattered through small communes rather than concentrated in a couple of metropolitan areas.
Beaune is the practical crossroads, where the A6, A31 and A36 meet, and relay work advertised at Dijon depends on it. A driver in the Cote-d'Or will look at jobs on all three corridors before choosing.
The Saone axis carries the region's five multimodal terminals at Gevrey-Chambertin, Pagny, Chalon-sur-Saone, Macon and Gron, alongside 30 public and private quays of which about 10 are operational.
The Jura and Doubs side is a different market again: Besancon, Montbeliard, Lons-le-Saunier, Dole, and communes such as Sellieres, Montmorot and Saint-Amour. An advert naming only the region will not reach those drivers.
There is no cargo airport of consequence here and rail is under-used: of roughly 159 rail-connected sites, about 97 are actually in service. Almost everything moved in this region travels by road at one end or both.
Driver work differs sharply between the capital region, the Channel and Mediterranean ports, the inland logistics corridors and the overseas regions. Open another region to see the hiring information that applies there.
French drivers search in French. An advert written only in English will miss most of the domestic market.
Two letters carry most of the meaning. PL means a rigid lorry and maps to permis C. SPL means an articulated combination and maps to permis CE. Using them the wrong way round marks an advert as written by someone outside the trade, and drivers notice.
The common advert titles are chauffeur routier, chauffeur SPL, chauffeur PL, conducteur SPL and conducteur routier for freight, chauffeur livreur for delivery work, and conducteur de car for coach work.
Conducteur receveur is worth knowing. It means a bus driver who also handles fares and passenger contact, and it is the standard title on urban network vacancies.
Write the licence as permis C or permis CE. Adverts also use the older EC form, so either is understood, and the category usually appears in the advert title rather than buried in the body.
FIMO is the initial qualification and FCO the periodic refresher. Adverts list them by name alongside the carte de qualification de conducteur and code 95. Name only what the role genuinely needs.
The carte de conducteur for the digital tachograph appears in most freight adverts, and ADR where the load requires it.
One term is regularly misunderstood. CACES is an assessment scheme, not a licence. The legal permission to operate a forklift is the employer's own autorisation de conduite, and the CACES supports it rather than replacing it.
Pay is referenced against the convention collective nationale des transports routiers and its coefficient system. Stating a coefficient, or a clear gross figure, does more for an advert than a vague range.
FastDriver.eu operates as a European driver job portal and allows candidates elsewhere in Europe and in eligible international markets to find and apply for suitable French vacancies.
For a candidate from outside the EU, the employer applies for the autorisation de travail through the ANEF portal. The application is the employer's to make, not the candidate's, and silence from the administration counts as a refusal rather than an approval, so track it rather than waiting.
Pay must reach at least the SMIC or the higher rate set by the convention collective nationale des transports routiers, whichever is greater. For driver roles the collective agreement is usually the binding figure, so check the coefficient for the post before you advertise a salary.
Unless an exemption applies, the employer must have published the vacancy for three weeks within the preceding six months before applying. The main exemption is the shortage occupation list, which is set by arrêté and is regional, so the list that matters is the annexe for this region rather than a national one.
Employers in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté may receive applications from drivers based in France, elsewhere in the EU and EEA, Switzerland, the wider European region, Asia, Africa, Gulf countries, North America, Latin America and other eligible international markets.
EU, EEA and Swiss citizens may work in France without a work authorisation. Licence validity and the professional qualification still apply to them exactly as they do to a French driver.
Where a French operator employs a driver who is a third country national, an attestation de conducteur is also required. It is issued by the DREAL, or the DRIEAT in the Paris region, and it is separate from the work authorisation.
A candidate's ability to work here depends on nationality, residence status, professional qualifications, driving licence validity and the requirements of the individual position. Nationality alone never settles it. Drivers can check their own position through our driving licence eligibility guidance.
FastDriver.eu can provide process guidance and document coordination when a candidate needs support. It does not make government decisions and cannot promise an approval.
Name the licence category in the advert. A French driver reads it first, and PL or SPL in the title tells them immediately whether the job is theirs.
Freight work uses permis C for rigid vehicles and permis CE for combinations, with C1 and C1E for lighter rigids. Passenger transport uses D and D1. Delivery roles in light vehicles sit in category B.
Age limits matter when planning a pipeline. C1 and C1E open at eighteen, C and CE at twenty one, D1 and D1E at twenty one and D and DE at twenty four. C and CE drop to eighteen for a driver holding the initial qualification.
Heavy category validity is tied to age rather than a fixed term, and every renewal requires a medical examination by an approved doctor. The interval shortens as the driver gets older, which is worth knowing before you build a rota around one person.
FIMO is the initial qualification, one hundred and forty hours, with a longer initial route of two hundred and eighty. FCO is thirty five hours every five years. Both are evidenced by the carte de qualification de conducteur and by code 95.
The passerelle between goods and passenger work runs thirty five hours in either direction, but read it carefully before you plan around it. It converts the qualification, not the licence. A driver moving to coach work must already hold the passenger category, so it widens your field only among drivers who already hold both.
Foreign licences need care. An EU or EEA licence is valid in France. Outside that, exchange depends on a reciprocity agreement with the issuing country, and the agreements differ in scope: some cover all categories, many cover only cars and motorcycles. A heavy category can only be exchanged where the agreement covers it, and the exchange must be started within a year of the driver establishing residence. Check the country before you make an offer, not after.
A professional qualification obtained outside the EU or EEA is not recognised in France. An experienced driver arriving from outside Europe must take FIMO here, whatever they held before. Budget realistic time for that rather than discovering it after a contract is signed.
A carte de conducteur is required for the digital tachograph on in scope work, and ADR training where the load needs it. Say which of these the role actually needs, and remember that verifying the original documents remains the employer's responsibility.

Employers in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté can use FastDriver.eu to find drivers, advertise genuine vacancies and receive applications through a specialised European driver job portal.
The employer starts by submitting company details, work location, driver category, required licence, number of vacancies, experience level, working schedule, salary information and proposed start date.
The vacancy can then be prepared and promoted to relevant drivers through the platform, alongside the current driver vacancies already open.
Candidates apply for suitable positions. The employer reviews their information, conducts interviews and makes the final hiring decision.
FastDriver.eu does not become the employer. It does not replace the company's legal responsibility for candidate verification, employment contracts, remuneration or working conditions.
Employers that can consider international drivers should clearly state whether work authorisation guidance, visa process support, accommodation or relocation assistance is available.
This information must reflect the employer's actual offer. It must not be added only for search visibility.
Tell us how many drivers you need, the depot or town they work from, the licence category, experience, routes, language requirements and proposed employment conditions.
Our team reviews your company details and checks that the vacancy contains what a French driver needs in order to apply with confidence, including the category, whether the work is PL or SPL, the FIMO and FCO position and the schedule.
The vacancy is prepared, published and promoted according to the selected employer option.
Drivers apply through the platform. The employer reviews applications, communicates with suitable candidates and arranges interviews.
The employer makes the final hiring decision, verifies the candidate and signs the employment contract directly with the selected driver.
When separately agreed, FastDriver.eu may provide immigration process guidance, document coordination and relocation preparation for eligible international candidates.
Complete and accurate information helps drivers understand the opportunity and allows the platform team to publish the vacancy correctly.
Do not request unrelated information.
FastDriver.eu provides the digital platform and any separately agreed support services.
The employer is responsible for confirming the vacancy, independently verifying each selected candidate, checking driving licences and the FIMO and FCO position, and meeting all French employment obligations.
FastDriver.eu does not issue government approvals.
FastDriver.eu cannot guarantee applications, candidate availability, candidate suitability, interview attendance, hiring, work authorisation approval, visa approval, licence recognition, processing time or continued employment.
All vacancies must be genuine, current, lawful and accurate.
Employers must not request unlawful recruitment or application payments from candidates.
A place to publish a real vacancy and a direct line from the candidate to you. You keep control of the advert wording, pay, the contract, and the selection, and applications go directly to your team. No candidate is screened out first, and no shortlist is prepared on your behalf. The portal never becomesanyone’ss employer.
It supplies nobody. This is a job portal. It is not an agency of any kind, nor an entreprise de travail temporaire, which matters in a region where the driver adverts read for this page were overwhelmingly agency-placed. Nothing here mirrors that model: the driver is employed by you, on your contract, from the first day.
Any driver can use the site, whether they are already in the region, elsewhere in France, or in another European country. EU, EEA and Swiss nationals need no permit. Everyone else needs a work authorisation applied for by the employer. FastDriver.eu cannot guarantee the number of applications, the availability of any candidate or their suitability for the work.
You apply, through the ANEF portal, as the prospective employer. The pay must at least match the SMIC, and if the convention collective nationale des transports routiers sets a higher rate for the grade, that figure becomes the floor—a permanent contract points to the salarie route, and a fixed-term one to travailleur temporaire. Two months of silence from the prefecture counts as a refusal.
Nothing on the list covers lorry driving here. Conducteurs routiers is listed for Provence-Alpes-Côted’Azurr and for no other metropolitan region, so the three-week publication test applies in full: the vacancy must have run for three weeks within the six months before the application. Plan the advert period before you plan the start date.
Most of the work advertised here is permis CE, because articulated combinations carry plant, asphalt, and distribution loads. Permis C covers rigid vehicles. C1 and C1E open at 18, C and CE at 21, or at 18 with the initial qualification behind them. Heavy category validity depends on the driver's age rather than a fixed term, and a medical examination is due at every renewal.
FIMO is the 140-hour initial qualification, with a 280-hour diploma route as the alternative. FCO renews it: 35 hours on a five-year cycle. Both appear on the carte de qualification de conducteur, and the licence itself carries code 95 with the same expiry date. There is no grace period once it lapses, so check the date at the interview rather than on the first shift.
EU and EEA licences stay valid. For anywhere else, the reciprocity list decides it: each issuing state is recorded as Toutes, A et B, or B, and the heavy categories travel only with the first of those. A twelve-month window from the start of residence applies, and it is easy to miss.
They do. A professional qualification gained outside the EU or EEA counts for nothing here, so the driver must take FIMO afresh in France, regardless of their experience elsewhere. The licence question runs separately: solving one does not solve the other. For a Ukrainian driver,r both apply, because Ukraine is not on the reciprocity list at all.
Lead with the equipment and the commune. The adverts read here used modifiers that tell a driver instantly what the day looks like: BTP, travaux publics, porte-char, enrobes, en relais, de distribution. Add the licence category, where FIMO and FCO stand, any ADR requirement and the coefficient, then say whether the contract is permanent.
A ready CE holder with a current FCO can move quickly once your checks are complete. A candidate from outside the EU bringsa three-weekk publication period, then an authorisation application with no published processing standard, and possibly a licence exchange or a French FIMO on top. Those run in months. No timescale can be promised, and no approval, because none of those decisions belongs to the portal.
All of them. The prefecture checks a third-country national’s residence document for the workplace at least two working days in advance, and you keep proof that you sent the request. You file the DPAE with Urssaf. If the driver is a third-country national on international work or cabotage, the DREAL issues the attestation de conducteur.
It is not concentrated, and that is the regional point. The average warehouse here is smaller than the national average; the region holds about 5% of national warehouse floor space on 7.4% of French territory; and the live adverts came from Montchanin, Sellieres, Montmorot, Saint-Amour, Saint-Aubin, and Pagny-le-Chateau as much as from Dijon or Besançon.
Interim dominated the sample heavily, with only two permanent roles among thirteen adverts captured. Regional unemployment sits below the national rate while salaried employment falls faster than nationally and interim itself contracts. An employer offering a CDI is therefore making an unusually visible offer in a market that advertises mostly through agencies, and the advert should say so.
The research behind this page could not confirm a driver training site in the region, so none is named here. The regional development agency counts around 53 dedicated training programmes, and an employer funding a licence or FIMO should check locally with approved centres and confirm what each actually delivers before naming one in an advert.
Heavy goods vehicles are kept off the network at weekends and around public holidays, subject to exemptions, which shapes thedriver’ss week. The Jura is one of the massifs where the winter equipment rule applies, with the perimeter set by prefectoral order, and an articulated vehicle must carry chains even when it already runs winter tyres. Both belong in the advert.
Name the commune, the body type and the licence category, and a Bourgogne-Franche-Comté driver advert will do its own filtering. Applications come back to you, and every decision about who drives for you stays with your business.
Recruitment, selection and employment all stay with the employer, with no intermediary in the contract.
