Long Distance Truck Drivers
Post vacancies for Berufskraftfahrer and LKW Fahrer roles in Fernverkehr, covering national trunking and European work. State the weekly rotation, since this is what candidates compare.
For German Employers
Publish your driver vacancies on FastDriver.eu, reach candidates across the German federal states, elsewhere in Europe and in eligible international markets, and manage applications yourself. Germany operates a dedicated admission rule for professional drivers, and we can assist with documentation and relocation coordination under a separate agreement.
Direct employer hiring • European and international reach • Driver specific admission and relocation guidance when required
FastDriver.eu connects German hauliers, forwarding companies, contract logistics operators, bus companies and parcel networks with drivers looking for work.
Publish a genuine vacancy, state the licence class, describe whether the work is Nahverkehr or Fernverkehr, and receive applications directly. That single distinction does more to filter German applications than anything else you can write. Browse current German listings at www.fastdriver.eu/jobs/germany.
FastDriver.eu is a specialised driver job portal. It is not a recruitment agency or a temporary employment agency, it does not employ drivers and it does not lease workers under Arbeitnehmerueberlassung.
Your company reviews the applications, interviews the candidates, inspects the original licence and qualification documents, and signs the employment contract. In Germany that document check carries particular legal weight, as set out further down this page.
German employers recruit across long distance haulage, regional distribution, contract logistics and passenger transport. State the licence class and the traffic type, and say whether the driver takes the vehicle home.
Post vacancies for Berufskraftfahrer and LKW Fahrer roles in Fernverkehr, covering national trunking and European work. State the weekly rotation, since this is what candidates compare.
Advertise Kraftfahrer and CE Fahrer positions in Nahverkehr, running daily return work for retail, building materials and contract logistics customers.
Publish roles for Busfahrer and Omnibusfahrer on municipal networks, regional services, school transport, works shuttles and long distance coach operations.
Advertise Auslieferungsfahrer, Zusteller and Kurierfahrer positions in parcel networks, food distribution and urban logistics across the metropolitan regions.
Reach ADR and Gefahrgut qualified drivers, Tankwagenfahrer, Silofahrer, container and Schwertransport drivers for the chemical, fuel and heavy project sectors.
Use a job title only where it genuinely matches the role. Unrelated titles added for traffic produce applications you will only reject.
Germany is a federation of sixteen states. It sits at the centre of European road freight, so transit traffic shapes driver work as much as domestic demand does.
Hamburg, Bremerhaven and Wilhelmshaven generate container drayage and hinterland haulage reaching deep into the south and east of the country.
North to south and east to west corridors carry heavy international traffic, and many operators build their driver rotations around those flows.
Automotive, chemical and machinery production generate scheduled inbound and outbound transport running to tight delivery windows.
Large logistics clusters around the Rhine-Ruhr, Rhine-Main, Leipzig and Nuremberg areas support parcel, contract logistics and retail distribution employment.
Each state has its own transport profile. Naming it, and the nearest city, helps candidates judge the commute and the type of work on offer.
German drivers search in German and use the licence class as a search term in its own right.
Berufskraftfahrer is the formal occupational title. LKW Fahrer and Kraftfahrer are used at least as often in adverts, and CE Fahrer or Fahrer Klasse CE appear constantly because candidates filter on the class.
The Nahverkehr and Fernverkehr distinction is central. It tells a candidate whether they sleep at home, and leaving it out is the commonest reason a German driver skips an advert.
Passenger roles use Busfahrer and Omnibusfahrer, while delivery and courier work appears as Auslieferungsfahrer, Zusteller and Kurierfahrer.
Candidates commonly list Fahrerkarte, Grundqualifikation and ADR in their profiles, along with Gefahrgut for dangerous goods work.
Publish in German for the domestic market. An English version is worth adding when you are open to candidates from elsewhere in Europe, particularly since the driver admission rule does not itself impose a German language requirement.
FastDriver.eu operates as a European driver job portal and allows candidates in other parts of the world to discover and apply for suitable German vacancies.
German employers may receive applications from drivers based in Germany, other EU and EEA countries, Switzerland, the wider European region, Asia, Africa, Gulf countries, North America, Latin America, the Caribbean and other eligible international markets.
EU and EEA citizens and Swiss nationals have free access to the German labour market. Registration and valid licence and qualification documents still apply.
Germany operates a dedicated admission rule for professional drivers from third countries. There is no priority check, and the rule itself imposes no German language requirement. The Federal Employment Agency examines the employment conditions, checking that pay and hours match local conditions for comparable work.
The part employers most often miss is where the burden sits. The Agency does not itself verify the driving licence or the basic qualification. Your company carries that responsibility and confirms it in the declaration of employment. Drivers can check their own position through our driving licence eligibility guidance.
FastDriver.eu can provide process guidance and document coordination when a candidate needs support. It does not make government decisions and cannot promise an approval.
State the licence class in the advert, and be precise about it.
Freight roles use C and CE, with C1 and C1E for lighter rigid vehicles. Passenger transport uses D and D1, with DE and D1E where a trailer is drawn. Delivery work sits in class B.
Professional drivers need the basic qualification or accelerated basic qualification, evidenced by code 95 or by a driver qualification certificate, and maintained through periodic training every five years. A digital tachograph driver card is required for in scope work, and ADR training for dangerous goods.
For candidates who do not yet hold an EU or EEA licence and the basic qualification, there is a second route. You can employ them in an alternative role, for example in the warehouse or workshop, while they obtain both, provided the contract commits them to the training and you guarantee a driving position afterwards.
A foreign licence must be exchanged within six months of registering residence. Whether theory and practical tests are required depends on the issuing state, so check that early rather than after arrival. Applicants aged forty five or over on first entry must also meet a minimum salary or evidence adequate pension provision.
Experience expectations are set by operators. Fernverkehr roles look for route and hours management experience, contract logistics for reliability against fixed windows. FastDriver.eu can present candidate information, but verifying the original documents remains the employer's responsibility, and here that is a legal obligation rather than good practice.
Publish driver vacancies in German or English with the licence class, traffic type and rotation set out clearly.
Raise the visibility of Fernverkehr and specialist roles that are slow to fill.
Applications reach your team directly, with no agency between you and the driver.
Support in reaching drivers who match your licence and route requirements, without any promise of a specific candidate.
Guidance on the driver admission route, the declaration of employment and the accelerated skilled worker procedure.
Coordination of travel, registration and licence exchange steps when an international candidate is hired.
Employer options can be arranged around single vacancies, seasonal peaks or larger recruitment rounds, and are agreed separately with your company.
German drivers compare adverts closely on rotation, vehicle and pay. Vague listings are skipped.
Give the company name, the federal state and the depot the driver reports to, and say whether the work is Nahverkehr, Fernverkehr or international.
State the vehicle type and licence class, the basic qualification position, and whether ADR or a specific endorsement applies.
Say how many drivers you need, what experience you expect and whether the vehicle can be parked at the driver's home.
Describe the schedule honestly, including nights out and weekend rotations, and set out pay, allowances and any collective agreement that applies.
Confirm the start date, and say whether you would consider candidates who need admission under the driver rule, including those still to complete the qualification.
Your company sets and honours the final employment terms.
Tell us the role, the federal state, the licence class and how many drivers you need.
The vacancy goes live in German, English or both, and is promoted to relevant candidates.
Applications arrive directly for your team to assess.
You interview and verify the licence class and basic qualification yourself, since the employer carries that duty.
Your company issues the employment contract and completes the declaration of employment.
Where admission is required, the Federal Employment Agency and visa stages follow, and the accelerated procedure can be requested. Support can be agreed separately.
Work through these before publishing. The licence and qualification checks in particular sit with your company by law.
The German employer is responsible for the following.
Under the driver admission rule the Federal Employment Agency does not check whether the required EU or EEA licence and basic qualification are in place. The employer bears that responsibility and confirms it to the Agency in the declaration of employment, so a loose check here is a compliance exposure rather than an administrative detail.
FastDriver.eu does not issue any government approval.
FastDriver.eu cannot guarantee applications, candidate availability, candidate suitability, interview attendance, hiring outcomes, licence recognition, work permits, residence permits, visas, processing times or continued employment.
Misleading vacancy content may be removed from the platform.

Yes. German reaches the domestic market effectively, and an English version of the same vacancy broadens its reach to candidates abroad.
Always. It tells a candidate whether they sleep at home, and omitting it is the most common reason an otherwise suitable German driver passes over an advert.
Yes. EU and EEA citizens and Swiss nationals have free access to the German labour market. Licence and qualification requirements still apply.
Yes. Germany operates a dedicated admission rule for professional drivers from third countries, with Federal Employment Agency approval, no priority check and no German language requirement under the rule itself.
No, and this catches employers out. The Agency checks the employment conditions. Your company is responsible for confirming that the required licence and basic qualification are in place and for declaring this to the Agency.
There is a route for that. You can employ the candidate in an alternative role. At the same time, they obtain the German licence and basic qualification, provided the contract commits them to the training and you guarantee a driving position afterwards.
A foreign licence must be exchanged within six months of registering residence. Whether theory and practical tests are needed depends on the issuing state, so establish this before the driver arrives.
The accelerated skilled worker procedure is available for professional drivers. Your company applies to the competent immigration authority and takes certain organisational steps in return.
Your company does, and in Germany that is a legal duty rather than good practice. The platform may collect candidate information and assist with document coordination only.
Yes. Promotion and employer support can be arranged for urgent needs or to recruit several drivers at once.
There is no fixed timeline. It depends on candidate availability, your own process, Employment Agency approval, the visa stage, and whether licence exchange or qualification training is needed.
Options depend on the number of vacancies, the promotion level and the support you need. Terms are agreed with your company in advance.
Submit the employer enquiry with your company details and driver requirements, or post the vacancy directly. Your team then reviews the applications and selects the driver.
